X Ads reporting in Grower puts your X campaigns on the same leaderboard as every other channel you run: ROAS, conversions, cost, CPA, impressions and CTR. Grower de-duplicates X conversions with the rest into one unified count, credits each touchpoint with the attribution model you pick, and turns the numbers into AI analyses and recommendations you approve.

What you get when you connect X Ads to Grower

X Ads is one of the 10 paid connections listed on the Streamline integrations page. Once connected, X sits inside the same system you use to plan, run and report on the rest of your marketing.

  • Channels leaderboard: X ranked next to your other channels by ROAS, conversions, cost, CPA, impressions and CTR, with a performance spotlight for your best channel, most converting campaign, best CPA and highest spend.
  • One conversion count: the attribution engine de-duplicates conversions from every channel and app into one unified count, then credits each touchpoint with last click, first click, linear, time decay, position-based (40/20/40) or a custom model you build.
  • AI analyses: run a deep, conversion, budget, content or audience analysis on any X campaign. Each returns an AI summary and suggested actions you approve, dismiss or turn into a task.
  • Recommendations you approve: the recommendation engine produces weekly recommendations with the evidence behind them, labelled by risk. Approve one and Grower pushes it to the channel for you, or let low-risk changes run on autopilot.
  • Budgets against live spend: budgets by month, quarter, year or campaign group are compared with live spend from connected channels, with budget insights every month.
  • AskGrower: ask the agent for an X report in plain words. It can also create tasks and change campaigns from the chat, and it asks before it spends credits or touches anything live.

How X Ads conversion tracking works

X's conversion tracking guide offers two ways to measure website conversions. The X Pixel is a website tag on your pages. The Conversion API is "a direct, server-to-server integration" that shares conversion data without website code.

Events can be a page view, add to cart, lead, added payment info, purchase or a custom event. If you run the pixel and the Conversion API together, X strongly recommends passing the same conversion_id parameter in both, so one purchase is not counted twice.

In Ads Manager you add conversions by event type next to spend, impressions, engagements and link clicks. The CSV export can break out post-view and post-engagement conversions separately, according to X's website conversions campaign guide.

X Ads attribution windows

X credits a conversion to your ads if it happens inside the window you set for each event. These are the options and the defaults X recommends in its campaign setup guide:

WindowOptionsRecommended default
Post-engagement (after a like, repost, follow, reply or URL click)1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 14 or 30 days30 days
Post-view (saw the ad, did not engage)Off, 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 14 or 30 days1 day

X notes that changing the window retroactively updates your conversion data. Its analytics discrepancies page adds that reporting is finalized within 24 to 48 hours of when impressions are served, after a batch process removes duplicate tag fires and merges multi-device conversions.

Why X Ads numbers differ from GA4 and other platforms

  • Clicks are not sessions. X logs a link click the moment it happens. Analytics tools count visitors who stayed long enough for the page to load, so slow connections and quick exits widen the gap, as X explains on the same discrepancies page.
  • Different windows. A 30-day post-engagement window plus a 1-day post-view window can credit X for conversions that GA4 or another ad platform assigns elsewhere.
  • Every platform claims the sale. Each ad platform counts the conversions it can see. A buyer who engaged with an X ad and later clicked a search ad can show up in both platforms' totals.

Adding up platform totals therefore overstates results. Grower de-duplicates conversions across channels first, then applies one attribution model to all of them, so X is judged by the same rule as every other channel. Our guide to marketing attribution models shows how each model splits one sale, and the marketing analytics platform checklist lists what to ask of any reporting tool.

Getting connected

Your X Ads connection is set up with your Grower specialist during onboarding, alongside the other channels and app trackers you use. Frequently asked questions

What is the default X Ads attribution window?

For website conversions, X recommends 30 days after an engagement and 1 day after a view. Post-engagement options run from 1 to 30 days, and post-view from off to 30 days. X says changing the setting retroactively updates your conversion data, so you can compare windows later without losing history.

Do I need the X Conversion API as well as the X Pixel?

Not always. X recommends the pixel for most advertisers and the Conversion API, a server-to-server integration, when website code is a problem, for example if you cannot run JavaScript. If you use both, send the same conversion_id with each event so X can de-duplicate the pixel and server versions of one conversion.

Why doesn't X Ads match Google Analytics?

X counts a link click when it happens, while analytics tools count sessions where the page fully loaded. The two also use different attribution windows and models, and X can credit post-view conversions that analytics never links to X. Grower de-duplicates conversions across channels into one count and applies one model to all of them.

Can Grower change my X campaigns?

Grower's recommendation engine suggests changes each week with the evidence behind them, labelled by risk. Approve a recommendation and Grower pushes it to the channel for you; dismiss it and undo any time, or switch on autopilot for low-risk changes. AskGrower can also change campaigns from the chat and asks before it touches anything live.
