How do UK audiences split across digital channels?

The UK is a mature, high-reach market where the choice of channel mix matters more than access. DataReportal's Digital 2026: United Kingdom report, published in November 2025, counted 68.1 million internet users in October 2025, 97.8 percent of the population, and 55.5 million social media user identities, equal to 79.7 percent.

PlatformAd reach, late 2025Share of population
YouTube55.5 million79.7%
LinkedIn48.0 million members68.9%
Facebook38.8 million55.6%
Instagram35.5 million50.9%
TikTok26.8 million adults (18+)48.4% of adults
Snapchat23.9 million34.3%
X19.0 million27.2%
Pinterest15.5 million22.3%

Source: DataReportal, Digital 2026: United Kingdom. Ad reach is not the same as monthly active users, and LinkedIn counts registered members.

  • YouTube has the widest ad reach, at 79.7 percent of the population.
  • LinkedIn's professional audience is large. Its 48.0 million members equal 68.9 percent of the population, though members are not the same as monthly users.
  • TikTok's UK ad audience skews female. Women were 61.5 percent of its adult ad audience in late 2025, the reverse of the Gulf, where they were 32.9 percent in the UAE and 39.1 percent in Saudi Arabia, according to DataReportal's country reports for the UAE and Saudi Arabia. A TikTok plan built for Dubai needs new targeting and creative for London.
  • Pinterest has a measurable UK audience of 15.5 million, 22.3 percent of the population, and Grower connects Pinterest alongside the other paid channels.

UK budgets are set in pounds sterling (GBP), while Grower's pricing page lists plans in US dollars, from $199 a month for Starter. Agree on one planning currency for budgets and reports before the year starts.

Which dates matter most in the UK marketing calendar?

What do UK GDPR, PECR and the DUAA mean for marketers?

This is general information, not legal advice.

The UK GDPR governs personal data, and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) add specific rules for electronic marketing. Both are enforced by the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

  • Email and text to individuals: you need their specific consent, such as an opt-in box, unless the soft opt-in applies, according to the ICO's electronic mail marketing guidance. You must not disguise your identity, and you must give a valid contact address for opt-outs.
  • Soft opt-in: you can market to existing customers who bought, or negotiated to buy, a similar product or service from you, if you gave them a simple way to opt out when you collected their details and in every message. It does not cover prospects or contacts from bought-in lists.
  • B2B: you can email or text any corporate body, but sole traders and some partnerships are treated as individuals. The ICO recommends keeping a "do not email or text" list of businesses that object.
  • Higher fines: most of the remaining data protection provisions of the Data (Use and Access) Act came into force on 5 February 2026, and the ICO can now issue PECR fines of up to £17.5 million or 4% of global turnover, the ICO said. Its PECR guidance is under review because of the Act.
  • Food and drink ads: restrictions on advertising less healthy food or drink apply across the UK from 5 January 2026, with a 9pm TV watershed and a 24-hour restriction on paid-for online ads, for businesses with 250 or more employees, according to GOV.UK.

Marketing into the Gulf as well? Our PDPL vs UK GDPR guide explains why the UK's soft opt-in and B2B rules don't carry over to the UAE, Saudi Arabia or Qatar.

How does Grower help UK marketing teams?

  • Attribution your finance team can follow. The attribution engine de-duplicates conversions from every channel and app into one unified count, then credits touchpoints with last click, first click, linear, time decay, position-based (40/20/40) or custom weights. Our attribution models guide explains each one.
  • ROAS by channel, then action. The channels leaderboard ranks every connected ad channel by ROAS, conversions, cost, CPA, impressions and CTR. Deep, conversion, budget, content and audience analyses on any campaign return AI summaries and suggested actions you approve, dismiss or turn into a task.
  • B2B planning built in. Buyer personas come with ready-to-use targeting for each ad channel, such as LinkedIn seniority and industry or Google Search keywords, and the planner sizes TAM, SAM and SOM with CAGR and a five-year forecast.
  • CRM and email connected. HubSpot, Mailchimp and Google Analytics sit alongside ten paid channels, including LinkedIn Ads, YouTube, Pinterest and Reddit.
  • Controls for larger teams. Multiple organizations, departments and roles, permissions per campaign group, a full log of user actions, and AI prompts you control: edit the question, the temperature and the channel levels each analysis reads.

Plans start at $199 a month (Starter, three users) and $499 (Growth, ten users), with custom Enterprise plans and agency plans from $750.

Frequently asked questions

Does Grower have an office near the UK?

Yes. Grower has an office at 71 Lower Baggot Street, Dublin, Ireland, alongside its headquarters in Dubai Media City. UK teams can book a live walkthrough with a specialist, tailored to their channels, on the demo page, or email info@thegrower.ai with sales and support questions.

Can I email business contacts in the UK without consent?

Often, if they work for a corporate body. The ICO says you can email or text any corporate body, but sole traders and some partnerships are treated as individuals, so they need consent or the soft opt-in. Keep a list of businesses that object and screen new lists against it. This is general information, not legal advice.

Which attribution model should a UK marketing team use?

It depends on the sales cycle. Short ecommerce journeys can be judged on last click or position-based models, while long B2B cycles need a model that credits early touches, such as linear or time decay. Grower lets you switch between six models, including custom weights, on one de-duplicated conversion count, so you can compare before you commit.

How is Grower different from a reporting connector?

A connector moves channel data into a dashboard or spreadsheet that your team then interprets. Grower also plans budgets and personas, ranks channels, generates weekly recommendations you approve before they reach the channel, and de-duplicates conversions across channels and apps. If a data pipeline is all you need, read our Supermetrics comparison first.
