Pinterest Ads reporting in Grower ranks your Pinterest campaigns next to every other channel by ROAS, conversions, cost, CPA, impressions and CTR. Grower de-duplicates Pinterest conversions with the rest into one unified count, credits each touchpoint with the attribution model you choose, and turns the data into AI analyses and recommendations you approve.

What you get when you connect Pinterest to Grower

Pinterest is one of the 10 paid connections on the Streamline integrations page. Once connected, it sits in the same system you use to plan, run and report on everything else.

  • Channels leaderboard: Pinterest ranked against your other channels by ROAS, conversions, cost, CPA, impressions and CTR, with a performance spotlight for your best channel, most converting campaign, best CPA and highest spend.
  • One conversion count: the attribution engine de-duplicates conversions from every channel and app, then credits each touchpoint with last click, first click, linear, time decay, position-based (40/20/40) or a custom model.
  • AI analyses: deep, conversion, budget, content or audience analysis on any campaign, each with an AI summary and suggested actions you approve, dismiss or turn into a task.
  • Recommendations you approve: weekly recommendations from the recommendation engine, with evidence and a risk label. Approve one and Grower pushes it to the channel for you, or let low-risk changes run on autopilot.
  • Budgets against live spend: budgets by month, quarter, year or campaign group, compared with live spend from connected channels, with monthly budget insights.
  • AskGrower: ask for a Pinterest report in plain words. The agent asks before it spends credits or touches anything live.

How Pinterest Ads reporting works

The Pinterest Ads reporting dashboard, described in Pinterest's reporting help page, covers these core metrics:

MetricPinterest's definition
SpendTotal spent in the reporting period
ImpressionsTimes your Pins or ads were on screen
Pin clicksTaps that lead to a destination on or off Pinterest
Outbound clicksActions that lead to a destination off Pinterest
CTRTotal Pin clicks divided by total impressions

Cost per result is also reported. Note that Pinterest's CTR uses Pin clicks, which include clicks that stay on Pinterest, so it is not the same as a click-to-site rate.

Pinterest attribution windows

Pinterest expresses conversion and attribution windows as a lookback window of 30 days, 7 days or 1 day, combined with an engagement type, post-click or post-view, and recommends aligning the two as closely as possible (Pinterest leads campaign help). For reporting, Pinterest recommends 30 days for clicks and 30 days for views, written 30/30.

In Conversion insights, if no window is selected, Pinterest shows 1-day view and 30-day click, and it uses a last-touch model that counts organic Pins as well as ads (Review Conversion insights).

The Pinterest Conversions API

The Pinterest Conversions API lets advertisers send conversions directly to Pinterest through a server-to-server connection, for optimization, targeting and reporting. Pinterest asks for data in real time (under one hour) and, if you also use the Pinterest tag or a mobile measurement partner, a shared event_id so duplicate events are removed.

Why Pinterest numbers differ from Google Analytics

Pinterest is direct about this. Its Conversion insights page says tools such as Google Analytics "cannot see people's activity on Pinterest" and default to a last-click model. In Pinterest's example, someone engages with a Pin, sees an ad on a search platform a week later and buys: the third-party tool gives the search platform 100% of the credit, while Pinterest's own reporting, with a long enough window, can credit the same sale to Pinterest.

Both views are partly right, and adding them up counts the sale twice. Grower de-duplicates conversions across channels into one count, then applies the attribution model you choose to every channel at once. Our attribution models guide shows how each model splits one sale, and the break-even ROAS formula helps you judge whether Pinterest's ROAS is profitable.

Pinterest Ads in the UK and the Gulf

Pinterest's ads overview lists the United Kingdom among the countries where businesses can set up ads directly. The UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar appear instead in its table of advertising partners, which Pinterest says let you manage ad accounts and bill locally in select markets, including in the Middle East. Gulf advertisers should check that page for the current contact.

Frequently asked questions

What is Pinterest's default attribution window?

In Conversion insights, if you have not picked a window in Ads Manager, Pinterest shows 1-day view and 30-day click. For ads reporting, Pinterest recommends a 30-day click and 30-day view window. Campaign conversion and attribution windows use lookbacks of 1, 7 or 30 days, set for post-click or post-view.

Does Pinterest have a Conversions API?

Yes. The Pinterest Conversions API sends conversions to Pinterest over a server-to-server connection for optimization, targeting and reporting. Pinterest asks for events in real time, under one hour, and for an event_id that matches your Pinterest tag or measurement partner events so duplicates are removed from your reporting.

Why does Pinterest report more conversions than Google Analytics?

Pinterest counts conversions after views as well as clicks, with a recommended 30-day window for each, while Google Analytics cannot see activity on Pinterest and defaults to last click. A Pin someone saw last week gets credit in Pinterest but not in Analytics. Grower de-duplicates both into one conversion count.

Can I advertise on Pinterest from the UAE or Saudi Arabia?

Pinterest lists the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar in the advertising partners table on its ads overview page, rather than in the list of direct-setup countries. Partners let you manage ad accounts and bill locally. The UK is on the direct list. Check Pinterest's page for the current contact in your market.
