Instagram ads reporting and attribution in one view
Instagram ads are bought and reported through Meta's tools. Grower lists Instagram as its own connection next to Meta Ads, so Instagram sits in one channels leaderboard with your other channels, on one de-duplicated conversion count and the attribution model you choose.
Instagram ads are bought and reported through Meta's tools, mainly Meta Ads Manager, where Instagram is a placement. Grower lists Instagram as its own connection next to Meta Ads, so Instagram sits in one channels leaderboard with your other channels, on one de-duplicated conversion count and the attribution model you choose.
How are Instagram ads bought and reported?
Meta's guide to ways to advertise on Instagram says you first need a professional (business or creator) account. You can then run ads in five ways:
- Boost posts, Reels, Stories and partner content in the Instagram app, where "audience and placement options are set automatically."
- Boost from instagram.com, with the same features as the app.
- Create ads from a linked Facebook Page.
- Use Meta Business Suite to create ads and view insights.
- Use Meta Ads Manager, which "provides comprehensive tools for creating and managing ad campaigns across Instagram and Facebook."
In Ads Manager, Meta's instruction is: "When you're ready to run Instagram ads, select Instagram as a placement in Meta Ads Manager." Meta recommends including all available placements, so one campaign can run on Instagram and Facebook at once. To see Instagram on its own, Meta's reporting has a publisher_platform breakdown, described as "Which platform your ad was shown, for example on Facebook, Instagram, or Audience Network."
What do you get when you connect Instagram to Grower?
- Channels leaderboard: every connected channel ranked by ROAS, conversions, cost, CPA, impressions and CTR, with a spotlight on the best channel, best CPA and highest spend.
- One conversion count: the attribution engine de-duplicates conversions from every channel and app into one unified count and credits each touchpoint with the model you pick, from last click to custom weights.
- AI analysis: deep, conversion, budget, content or audience analysis on any campaign, with an AI summary and suggested actions you approve, dismiss or turn into a task.
- Recommendations: the recommendation engine suggests weekly changes with evidence and a risk label. Approve one and Grower pushes it to the channel for you.
- Budgets and AskGrower: budgets are compared against live spend from connected channels, and AskGrower can report on performance in chat.
Instagram and Meta Ads appear as two separate connections among Grower's 10 paid channels. If your Instagram placements run inside Meta campaigns, ask your specialist how the two map to your ad accounts.
How does attribution work for Instagram ads?
Instagram ads created in Meta Ads Manager follow Meta's attribution settings, chosen at the ad set level. With standard attribution, Meta counts website and in-store conversions within 1 or 7 days after a link click, 1 day after an impression, or 1 day after a non-link engagement, including a 5-second video play.
Server-side tracking runs through Meta's Conversions API. Meta's deduplication rules say "a Meta Pixel's eventID must match the Conversion API's event_id," the event names must match, and duplicates are only removed when received "within 48 hours of when we receive the first event." The Meta Ads integration page covers this in more detail.
Why don't Instagram's numbers match your other channels?
Meta credits Instagram conversions with its own windows, including views and engagements, and it only sees Meta's ads. TikTok, Snapchat and Google claim conversions the same way, so one customer can be counted by several platforms. Grower de-duplicates conversions across every channel into one unified count and credits them with one model you choose. See marketing attribution models explained.
Instagram in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the UK
DataReportal's Digital 2026 reports, using Meta's advertising tools, show Instagram's late-2025 ad reach:
| Market | Instagram ad reach | Adults 18+ reached | Female share |
|---|---|---|---|
| UAE | 8.05 million | 85.5% | 34.0% |
| Saudi Arabia | 18.2 million | 71.0% | 41.1% |
| Qatar | 1.70 million | 63.7% | 34.0% |
| UK | 35.5 million | 62.6% | 54.2% |
Female share is the share of Instagram's adult ad audience. The UK is the only one of the four where women are the majority. DataReportal notes that Meta has made meaningful revisions to its audience data, so avoid comparing these figures with older reports.

Frequently asked questions
Are Instagram ads managed separately from Facebook ads?
They don't have to be. Meta's help center describes Ads Manager as the place to create and manage campaigns across Instagram and Facebook, with Instagram chosen as a placement. Meta recommends including all available placements, so the same campaign can serve on both. Its publisher_platform breakdown separates results by platform when you need Instagram on its own.
Should I boost posts in the Instagram app or use Ads Manager?
Boosting is quick, but Meta says audience and placement options are then set automatically, while Ads Manager gives you all the Meta Advantage+ features available to you. Meta also notes that in most regions an Apple service fee of 30% may apply when you add funds in the Instagram iOS app, and suggests boosting from instagram.com instead.
Can Grower change my Instagram campaigns?
Only with your approval. The recommendation engine suggests changes each week with the evidence behind them and a risk label. Approve one and Grower pushes it to the channel for you, or dismiss and undo it any time. Low-risk changes can run on autopilot, and AskGrower asks before it touches anything live.
