HubSpot reporting in Grower puts your CRM and email tool in the same system that plans, runs and measures your paid media. HubSpot is one of Grower's two CRM and email connections, alongside Mailchimp. What the connection covers for your account is set up with your Grower specialist during onboarding, so CRM context sits next to your ad channels.

Why bring HubSpot next to your paid media

Ad platforms see clicks, views and the conversions their own tags record. The rest of the story, which leads became customers and what they were worth, usually lives in the CRM. When the two are read apart, every ad platform grades itself on its own numbers.

  • Paid media in one place. Grower's channels leaderboard ranks connected ad channels by ROAS, conversions, cost, CPA, impressions and CTR, the starting point for comparing spend with what your CRM shows.
  • One conversion count. Grower's attribution engine de-duplicates conversions from every channel and app into one unified count, then credits each touchpoint with last click, first click, linear, time decay, position-based (40/20/40) or a custom model with weights you set. Ask your specialist how your HubSpot data fits into it.
  • Plans built for B2B and B2C. Buyer personas for B2B, B2C and B2G audiences include ready-to-use targeting for each ad channel, and budgets are compared with live spend from connected channels.
  • Controls for larger teams. Enterprise controls cover multiple organizations, departments and roles, permissions per campaign group and a log of every user action.
  • AskGrower. Ask the agent for a report in plain words. It asks before it spends credits or touches anything live.

Grower's public roadmap also lists CRM integrations that sync contacts, deals and pipeline stages "so campaign results are measured in revenue, not just clicks". Ask your specialist what your HubSpot connection covers today.

How HubSpot attribution reporting works

HubSpot's attribution reports guide (updated August 2026) describes three report types:

ReportWhat it measuresAvailability
Contact Create AttributionWhich sources, assets and interactions generate contactsMarketing Hub or Content Hub Professional and Enterprise
Deal Create AttributionWhich ones generate dealsMarketing Hub Enterprise only
Deal Revenue AttributionWhich ones drive deal revenueMarketing Hub Enterprise only

You can choose First Touch, Last Touch, Linear, Time Decay or Empirical. HubSpot says the Empirical model replaces the U-shaped, W-shaped, J-shaped and Inverse J-shaped models and gives more weight to interaction types that occur less often. Reports include up to 20 million interactions after sampling.

Interactions include ad clicks, which HubSpot's attribution definitions describe as a contact engaging "with an advertisement on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, or Google", plus marketing email clicks, page views and form submissions.

How the HubSpot ads tool credits an ad

According to HubSpot's ads attribution guide, a new contact must click an ad that leads to a web session, then submit a form. The HubSpot tracking code must be on the landing page and auto-tracking must be on, and tracking does not work retroactively. If a click URL only has manual UTM parameters, HubSpot may identify the traffic source but won't attribute the contact to a specific ad. Free CRM and Marketing Hub Starter accounts only get the last ad interaction report.

Why HubSpot and your ad platforms disagree

  • Different events. HubSpot credits ads with contacts and closed-won deals; ad platforms count their own conversion events, often including views without a click.
  • Different requirements. No form submission, no tracking code or no auto-tracking means HubSpot will not attribute the contact to the ad, even if the platform counted a conversion.
  • Different models. HubSpot's Empirical or Time Decay model and each platform's own window split the same journey differently.

Summing every tool's totals counts one customer several times. A de-duplicated count under one model fixes that. Our attribution models guide shows how each model splits one sale, and the marketing analytics platform checklist covers what to ask of a reporting tool. B2B teams can also check payback with the CAC calculator on our B2B SaaS page.

Frequently asked questions

Which attribution models does HubSpot offer?

HubSpot's attribution reports offer First Touch, Last Touch, Linear, Time Decay and Empirical. HubSpot says Empirical replaces its U-shaped, W-shaped, J-shaped and Inverse J-shaped models and weights interaction types by how often they occur, so rarer interactions such as form submissions may get more weight than frequent ones such as page views.

Which HubSpot plan includes revenue attribution?

Deal Revenue Attribution and Deal Create Attribution reports are available on Marketing Hub Enterprise only. Contact Create Attribution reports are available on Marketing Hub and Content Hub Professional and Enterprise. In the ads tool, Free CRM and Marketing Hub Starter accounts only get the last ad interaction report.

Why doesn't HubSpot match my ad platform conversions?

HubSpot attributes a contact to an ad only after an ad click leads to a tracked web session and a form submission, with auto-tracking on. Ad platforms count their own conversion events, often including view-through. The two measure different things, so a de-duplicated count under one model is the fairer comparison.
