This location budget splitter divides one monthly ad budget across your branches, stores or markets. Every location first gets a minimum share, then the rest is shared out in proportion to last month's revenue or return on spend. You see the weighted split beside an even split, with each location's ROAS from last month.

How the calculator works

You enter a total monthly budget, what to weight the split by (revenue, or return on spend), a minimum share per location from 0% to 50%, and 2 to 12 locations, each with a name, last month's revenue and last month's ad spend. Business type and market give the AI analysis context, and currency labels your results.

StepFormula
Even splitBudget ÷ number of locations
Floor per locationMinimum share × budget, capped at an even split
Budget left to weightBudget − floor × number of locations
WeightRevenue, or revenue ÷ ad spend (0 if a location had no spend)
Weighted budgetFloor + budget left × location's weight ÷ sum of weights
Last month ROASRevenue ÷ ad spend

If every weight is zero, the rest is split evenly. Results show the even split, the biggest increase over it and a table of both splits. The verdict names where weighting moves the most budget and the minimum every location keeps. An analysis with next steps follows, written by AI from your numbers (or rule-based if the AI is unavailable).

Worked example (illustrative)

The default values: AED 60,000 a month, weighted by revenue, with a 5% minimum share across four locations. Each gets a AED 3,000 floor (5% × 60,000), leaving AED 48,000 to split by revenue, which totals AED 425,000.

LocationRevenue (ad spend)Weighted by revenueLast month ROAS
Dubai Marina180,000 (18,000)AED 23,32910.00x
Riyadh Olaya140,000 (20,000)AED 18,8127.00x
Doha West Bay60,000 (12,000)AED 9,7765.00x
Abu Dhabi45,000 (10,000)AED 8,0824.50x

Dubai Marina's share is 3,000 + 48,000 × 180,000 ÷ 425,000 = AED 23,329, which is AED 8,329 more than the AED 15,000 even split, the biggest increase. The verdict reads: "Weighting by revenue moves the most budget to Dubai Marina, while every location keeps at least AED 3,000."

How to read your result

Run both weightings. Revenue can reward size over efficiency, while return on spend can over-fund a small location with few sales. Return on spend flattens the example, because the ROAS gap between locations is smaller than the revenue gap: Riyadh Olaya gets AED 15,679 and Doha West Bay AED 12,057.

Know what the ROAS column measures. If you enter each location's total revenue rather than revenue from ads, it is a blended figure that includes walk-ins and repeat customers, closer to MER than to attributed ROAS.

One month is noisy. A promotion or a local holiday can swing a location's numbers, so use averages over a rolling quarter before big moves. No floor or weighting is right for everyone: margins and the need to stay visible differ by location.

Multi-location budget allocation across the GCC and UK

The splitter uses one currency for every location (AED, SAR, QAR, GBP, USD or EUR), so convert figures for branches in other countries, such as a Riyadh branch's SAR, before you enter them.

Enter revenue without VAT, because rates differ: 5% in the UAE, 15% in Saudi Arabia and 20% in the UK, while Qatar's General Tax Authority lists no VAT among its taxes. VAT-inclusive figures would make a Saudi branch look stronger than an equally good one in Doha. Local peaks differ too: national days fall on 23 September in Saudi Arabia, 2 December in the UAE and 18 December in Qatar.

How Grower helps

In Grower you can run a campaign group per location, each with its own budget and target personas, and see spend by channel and ROAS over time. Weekly recommendations come with their evidence; approve one and Grower pushes it to the channel.

Frequently asked questions

How should a multi-location brand allocate its ad budget?

Give every location a minimum share so none goes dark, then split the rest by a measure of performance. Weighting by revenue backs your biggest locations; weighting by return on spend backs your most efficient ones. Compare both with an even split, use more than one month of data, and re-run the split as results change.

Should I weight by revenue or by return on spend?

Revenue suits a brand whose biggest locations still have room to grow; return on spend suits one that wants each unit of budget where it earns most. In the example, revenue weighting gives Dubai Marina AED 23,329 and Abu Dhabi AED 8,082, while return on spend gives them AED 21,113 and AED 11,151. Try both before deciding.

What does the minimum share per location do?

It guarantees every location a floor before the weighted split. At 5% of AED 60,000, each of four locations gets AED 3,000 first, and the remaining AED 48,000 is split by weight. If the floor times the number of locations would exceed the budget, the calculator caps each floor at an even split.
